The US vice president, Mike Pence, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the national security adviser, Robert O'Brien, will lead a delegation to Turkey where they are expected to meet the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It is part of an effort to end the violence that has erupted since the US president, Donald Trump, decided to withdraw US troops from the region.
